Do you have an ADHD diagnosis?Yes, I have a clinical diagnosis of both ADHD and autism. When I founded AlternativePath, I made the intentional decision to be open about my diagnosis. My hope is that by sharing my experience, other neurodiverse individuals will feel seen and find their way to meaningful support. I understand the stigma that can accompany these diagnoses and respect that not everyone feels comfortable being open about theirs. For me, embracing neurodiversity openly is about creating connection, fostering acceptance, and empowering others to thrive in their unique journeys.

How is coaching different from therapy?Therapy and psychiatry focus on professionally licensed targeted mental health support. A coach is not a replacement for a therapist, counselor, psychiatrist, or any type of doctor. Coaching is also not intended for crisis situations. Coaching focuses on developing self-management tools to help with planning, organization, and emotional regulation skills essential for achieving personal and professional goals. A coach’s role is to provide structure, accountability, and strategies for navigating daily challenges, all in partnership with the client. Many people benefit from both coaching and therapy, as therapy provides targeted mental health support. If desired, therapists, doctors, and coaches can collaborate with your authorization, ensuring all aspects of your well-being are aligned and supported.

What happens during a typical coaching session?Your sessions will build on the foundation we establish during your initial Planning and Strategy Session, ensuring that each time we meet, we’re aligned and intentional about your path forward. A standard 50-minute coaching session within a coaching package, begins by focusing on what you would like to be coached on during the time we share. From there, we will walk together through a path of thoughtful questions and active listening. Each session is designed to meet you exactly where you are, focusing on your goals and challenges. Coaching empowers you to discover your strengths, gain self-awareness, and take action toward growth and change. The sessions are meant to create strategies focused on the future that matters to you.
